Carpet block glitch

Whenever I punch it to break it, this happens instead of dropping the block. Wat do?

EDIT: no idea why preview is rotated left 90 degrees while the main view is not. ._.

That looks like a java.lang.nullPointerException error, you better contact your system administrator about it like everyone else does whenever they see an error like this. :lol:

Ah, I had this issue. Try turning your computer off completely, eat at least 3 muffins (chocolate if possible). Once that's done, turn your computer on again, reinstall minecraft, and log in. At this point, put your computer in the microwave, leave it for about 10 minutes on full power. This fixed mine.

If you just want the block to go away, I find the most effective solution is to get fire/lava and place it on the block.

Yeah they changed it in the latest update so you need an iron pickaxe to break it. Don't use your fists, you'll just make a mess.
