What is it Like Where You Live?
What is it Like Where You Live?
Well, this thread is basically telling what your life is like where you live. The purpose is to get to know other parts of the world a little better. Please note, if you do not feel comfortable sharing, you are not required to. This is only for those who don't feel uncomfortable sharing. I'll start
I live in Chattanooga, TN. The land here is beautiful and the city is not very big but it is not small either. There is lookout Mountain on one side and Signal Mountain on the other. There are lots of mountains up in Tennessee so I we can go camping, hiking, hunting, as we please. It is very nice down here. I go to a private Christian school. This is the Bible belt so there is also a lot of religious influence down here as well. We also all talk like southerners saying stuff like "Ain't and Y'all." We also have the beautiful Tennessee river where we can go rope swinging, boating or just enjoy a nice view from downtown.
So, what is it like where you live?

I live very close to Houston. It's hot. And humid. And flat. Very, very flat.

I live in Cincinnati (OH) where the weather's made up and the season doesn't matter. Seriously, it went from like 80 degrees F one day to about 40 the next.
It's also very hilly and can be rather nice.

I'm at university in Liverpool, which is full of people in tracksuits. My hometown is Portishead, down near Bristol, and it's full of old people.

Re: What is it Like Where You Live?
Im originally from Lockport, (just north of Winnipeg, Manitoba), and live just outside of Winnipeg now. Winnipeg lies on the Great Plains, and so, much of the area around where I live is flat. The city itself is built in the Red River valley, where two major rivers (the Red and the Assinaboine) intersect.
Other than being flat, Winnipeg is also known for being cold (I've heard Winnipeg is sometimes referred to as Winterpeg). On average, winter lasts about 5-6 months with an average winter temperature of -18C (0F). With the windchill, it's usually around -20C to -28C (-4F to -18F) on average. It can occasionally get to around -40C (-40F), but not too often. The reason I'm focusing so much on Winnipeg's weather is because our cold temperatures are about the only thing we have to be proud of . Winnipeg's other claims to fame include being the slurpee capital of the world and the murder capital of Canada. So if you don't like slurpees or being murdered, I wouldn't recommend coming for a visit unfortunately.

That's at a place called West Wycombe, a couple of miles away. The countryside around here is all like that, not too dramatic.

I live in blackpool. Vegas of Britain. It's not exactly kid friendly but I've grown up here and I turned out alright. Word of advice, don't go into the further back streets at night.
