Anyone want to see The Hunger Games movie?
Hey everyone!
Since the movie, "The Hunger Games" is coming out in March, I thought I'd see if anyone was going to see it! In here, you can share your opinion of it, if you're going to see, and discuss things!
I personally love the Hunger Games! I loved the books so much! I doubt the movie will be better, but oh well! Movies are never as good as the books. I also really like the story!
Now, about the characters, I pictured Peeta, a bit less buff, and a whole lot less pale! They described him as scrawny and weak in the book, but he looks strong and tan in the movie. I also thought Katniss would be a bit thinner than her character is in the movie.
I also thought that district 12 would have about 100 boys and 100 girls in the reaping, but they have about 1,000 in the trailer!
here's a trailer for the Hunger Games movie!

I'm planning on organising a trip to the cinema to see it with some friends of mine as it seems like it has something for everyone, romance for the girls, a free-for-all murderfest for the boys.

Just close your eyes...
You'll be alright...
Come morning light...
You and I'll be safe and sound.

I will be seeing it :D
And I don;t believe it can truly match anywhere near the books unless they make it rated r. Just too much that will be left out :(
And yeah, Peeta is kinda not how I imagined him at ALL.

I haven't read the books, so this will finally give me a chance to watch a movie without nitpicking over all of the incostantcies.
Seriously, with the Harry Potter books I just noticed EVERYTHING that was changed and the Eragon movie... don't even get me started...

The Eragon movie was terrible. It completely removes sections of the story that are needed for sequels.Sti_Jo_Lew wrote:I haven't read the books, so this will finally give me a chance to watch a movie without nitpicking over all of the incostantcies.

Yeah, not going to see the sequel if they attempt one. Just too far off, it would be a whole new story

As I have just spent 3 nights outside waiting for the tickets for the Gala Premiere, I'll probably going to see it, I even got a Mockingjay Pin
And yeah, the movie will most likely not be as good as the books, but thats how it usually is.

That's how it ALWAYS is. At least the LoTR movies were good, they didn't really leave out or change much other than random songs and even more walking.

You have to remember that when you read a book the image conjured in your mind is that of your own and therefore the director people will probably have a completely different image of the book to you. Also the films cant be 5 hours long because some people lose interest so the books entire content has to fit in with 1.5-2.5 hours...
Although I will be seeing it, it will be after I've read the sequels as if I see a film after I've read the book i will never pick the book up again

That was filmed 10 minutes away from my camp, while I was there. Just saying.

Seriously though, I want a catching fire movie now... I am in love with it.
Also, discussion: Who would you want to be? A career, or a non-career?
I would rather be a career. 1. They are the best with everything since they were trained since birth. 2. The Gamemakers usually lean towards having the careers win. 3. They have the highest kill count always.

Re: Anyone want to see The Hunger Games movie?
I read a three of the books before I saw the movie. As I figured, I was kinda bored watching the movie, as I knew the main plot from the book already. But I thought the movie was pretty accurate. Friend of mine who saw it with me, but did not read the book, really enjoyed it.
Re: Anyone want to see The Hunger Games movie?
Saw the movie first, then bought the book and finished it yesterday.
Really liked the movie, thought the book was even better, now i need to find and buy the other books!
I didnt think they changed to much with the hunger games, it followed the story really well and only changed a few minor things, like how katniss got the pin and a tiny bit of peoples dialog, but that was due to the book being all in Katniss's view while the movie wasnt.
All in all i reckon the movie followed the book really well, even with the movie only being M.

Re: Anyone want to see The Hunger Games movie?
I loved the movie. Wasn't as good as the book, but still pretty good. The only thing that bugged me was the lack of those wolf things with the other tributes' faces on them.
Guess that may have been too gory.
Looking forward to see what they do with the next two books.

Re: Anyone want to see The Hunger Games movie?
Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings... Yes, the books are better... but the movies are still epic in such a way that they are almost on par with the books... that is my example of a movie being as good as the books >.>
