Before you read on, I have an announcement to make:

This is because, first of all, they generally last around 5 or 6 hours, and more likely the latter. It's rather exhausting, even if I am just sitting. At the same time I have also found myself becoming busier, taking on different and classified responsibilities around here, which take priority over the Shindig, which not only cuts into my time when it's on, but usually my entire Friday and sometimes a chunk of my Thursday in order to make the pre-recordings.

When I first started this I looked forward every Friday to the Shindig, but seeing how different it is from how it started out, I have steadily come to feel some sense of trepidation when the time is approaching. I'd rather not leave it with a sense of hatred towards it, so I'd like to leave it when there's still a bit of enjoyment left.

Also, to a much lesser extent, I can't play a song without someone complaining because they don't like it, or expressly telling everyone in chat that they've muted it. It irritates me.

Got Vent? That's all you need. Like music? That's pretty good too.

Every Friday, starting at 9PM GMT (BST), on Ventrilo, the DJ Battenburg Friday Shindig starts! It ends when I get tired or think things should wind down, so there isn't a real, that is, definitive, ending time!

At the Shindig, I like to play a variety of music for all to enjoy. But it's not just about me though! I take requests too, so feel free to tell me what you'd like, and I'll accommodate.

Update: Just tidied up the thread in preparation for the return of the Shindigs, which will be on the:

24th of June.

I'd also put the Final Shindig into an area where it can be easily downloaded, such as mediafire, but the understandably large size of the file means I'd have to spend money upgrading my account there, and no matter the pittance, I'm a cheap person, so you'll have to live with the Dropbox version, which as far as I can tell has no "Download here" button.

Sorry? Not sure what you mean, but if I actually put a recording of even one Shindig into the Dropbox it takes up a lot of space.

Lord, you can put a copy of the file in your Public folder in the Dropbox folder, then go to it on the Dropbox website and get the website to generate a download link. It's how I make the Fireside download links.

Lord would there be any way I could host a shindig in the future? I've noticed people tend to like a lot of harder music like dubstep and stuff. So if possible I would def like to do a live DJ set on the server and use the shindig stomping grounds in terra

I will always be hosting the Shindigs. You are of course free to host something similar, but I'd find it odd if "DJ Battenburg" was not the host of a Shindig.

Also, I have never seen a preponderance towards Dubstep in the people attending. I cannot remember any instance of Dubstep actually being requested at a Shindig.

In other words,

Incidentally, 3 more days (from where I am) until it starts!

Also, just so it's known, I put all the pre-recordings into a folder in the Dropbox entitled "Shindig Recordings". If you like to be amused, and have been amused by me in the past, you'll enjoy this.
