Started on cardio now, and have stuck to doing around 100 press-ups and 100 crunches per day, every so often 200 crunches.Jake55778 wrote:It's been a fortnight now. How's everyone doing?
So yeah, pretty good so far.
Re: Getting in shape
The sit ups have giving me stomach cramps now, but that's what I get when I do them all in one go.

I've been walking to work for 2 years, problem is, it's too short of a walk, I live next door to my office

You could always jump rope towards your office like a boss.wokka1 wrote:I've been walking to work for 2 years, problem is, it's too short of a walk, I live next door to my office

Re: Getting in shape
Jake, I noticed your routine involves little to no cardio. Cardio is a vital part of fat loss.
You could have huge muscles like Arnold but you wont see much definition with a layer of fat over them.

Fat isn't my problem, I'm thin as a twig. I'm just trying to counterbalance my hours of daily inactivity.

Oh, lol. Well good luck mate. But yeah, jump rope 30 min. at least. I know quite a few body builders who can bench 400 but can't run a mile without wheezing because they remove all sort of cardio from their routine.Jake55778 wrote:Fat isn't my problem, I'm thin as a twig. Just some friendly advise, not that I think you're doing things wrong or anything

Re: Getting in shape
had little time to do it yesterday so 200 sit ups/ press ups. And I got back like just now, yay for working out
Re: Getting in shape
One month now since I started (although I must confess to having missed a day or two). I can now do 70-80 push ups consecutively, vs the 20-30 I could manage starting out. I might try and increase my daily total from 100 to 150. I've also started adding in sit ups.

Re: Getting in shape
Well, okay. I'd not bothered to look in this thread until now, but I suppose that, now I have, I'll join in.
I walk for one hour a day, 5 days a week. I think that each time I take the dogs out (twice a day for half an hour), I walk about 2 miles...
However, in the spirit of this, I'll do some more.
40 Pushups.
40 Squats
45 seconds x 2 of the plank (Look it up)
20 Situps.
Each day.
I used to do quite a bit more exercise, but I've fallen out of the habit. I'll build up to this over time, so that, by next week, I'll be doing this 5 days a week as well (If I had the money to buy some dumbbells, I'd do that too...)

Re: Getting in shape
I do absolutely nothing. I just sit around and play video games, mess around in Illustrator, and doodle. I do walk a few miles to school and back every weekday though. Well, at least until I graduate.

I did 500 push ups today
Mostly just to make up for the days I've missed this month.

Re: Getting in shape
if abdomen is what your aiming for... do 100 sit ups and 100 crunches a day... also, for guys, i know it might seem a lil wierd, but have a picture of someone with whatever ur aiming for, stronger arms, a six pack.. etc... and for weight lifters, do not strain yourself, and always do it properly..
