Favorite Childhood Games and First

Post by BigC_1 » 02 Oct 2012, 22:23

I thought I would share some of my favorite games from when I was a young kid. I'm only 14 so don't expect really old games.

Count childhood in this case 10 and under.

Anyways here is some of my favorites:
Spoiler! :
Ratchet and Clank (I would play it again)
Spore (I would play it again)
Legend of Zelda (I might play it again, but it isn't as fun as it was.)
Star Wars Battlefront (I would play it again)
Pokemon (I no longer like this but when I was young it was fun.)
Also one of the first non-toddler games I played was Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. The SNES version.

Pitfall
Breakout
Frogger
Donkey Kong
Oregon Trail

(mostly first generation Atari and Coleco Vision)

Ratchet and Clank, (PS2)
Jak and Daxter, (PS2)
Black and White 1 & 2, (PC)
Dungeon Keeper 2, (PC)
Evil Genius 2, (PC)
Rise of Nations, (PC)
Donkey Kong, (Blimey that was a long time ago when I played that game) (PC)
Pokemon Ruby, (Gameboy Advance)
Onimusha, (1, 2, 3, and Dawn of Dreams) (PS2)
Mario Cart SNES, (Erm... I forget, Gameboy Advance I think)
Croc: Legend of the Gobbos, (PlayStation)
James Bond game collection (PS2)

... Yeah, I had a lot of spare time.

Also on a separate note, Spore (PC) holds a special place in hell from me...
There's micromanagement, and then there's that.
(And Spore is fairly recent, all things considered)

Lots of Nintendo 64 (Super Smash Bros, Mario Party 2, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, StarFox 64, Mariokart 64, etc.), some early Sonic games (I think Sega Genesis), Age of Empires II, Warcraft II, and Starcraft.

I have so many to list! Ive tried my best to lower it as much as possible, here is my top 15 list :D
PC
-Roller Coaster Tycoon (the original people! 2 and 3 were just disappointing to me (especially 3)
-Croc
-Putt-Putt games :3
-The sims,
-Captain Keen! (known as Commander Keen in 'Merica)

Gamecube (These do partly go out of the under 10 thing)
-Super Smash Bros Melee
-Time Splitters series
-Sonic Adventure 2, Battle

N64
-Zelda
-Rampage (definition of repetition, but i really enjoyed it for some reason as a kid)
-Mischief Makers (You are awesome if you know this game)
-Mario Games, such as: Cart, 64, Party (2 was and is still the best) and Yoshi's story (Golf was terrible)
-Pokemon. Especially Snap. The 10,000 point mew photo has still eluded me to this day...
-Rareware in general. Conkers Bady Fur-day, Perfect Dark, ect
And the BEST game or series from my childhood, without a doubt, and is still my favorite series to this day.
Spoiler! :
-Banjo-Kazooie! That game was the shit, i can 100% it in under 9 hours! Banjo-Tooie is the definition of how to make a sequel better! Expanding and adding to what the original brought. The Gameboy games were kinda crap, but i still 100%'d the crap out of them. I am yet to play Nuts & Bolts and I'm not exactly sure i want to...

Damnit Random, you stole all my N64 games :P I've got all those you listed and loved every one of them.
Other than them I'd say Pokemon Silver.

First actual ever game ever? Sonic 2 on Sega Genesis.

Favourite games? Age of mythology, Ratchet & clank (I'd say 3 is favourite out of the series but I also like gladiator a lot), Rollercoaster tycoon two, dungeon keeper 2, Black & white 1 and 2, Dawn of war: Dark crusade perhaps... need to check when it was out, Crash tag team racing, jak 2, I vaguely remember some sort of Cossacks game that I used to love until I lost it. For some reason I always played as the English and fought the French...

I'm still convinced Dark Crusade is 20x better than Starcraft.

And yes, Spore was pretty goof. Got REALLY boring after a while though.

I'm one of those spore was better before it turned smooth sorta guys. All the previews looked awesome, having spikey cell, rougher creatures etc. but then it was changed to be smoother and less awesome in most ways. Galactic adventures was alright though, could've still been improved

Yeah, the previews were way cooler. Stupid EA cartooned it up... made it better for little kids, so then it was a bunch of creatures by 8 year olds... :(

If you still play it btw, look up Kaleon. Makes really cool spaceships.
