Anyone heard of the game? It looks pretty good and will be coming out very soon for $10 on gog. It'll also be on steam but the prices change so you could be ripped off :/ Silly steam

Hot damn this games good! I've got the engi, zoltan and federation ship so far Wish there was an actual hard mode though, I seem to get to the last couple sectors with 150+ excess scrap. Also, screw stealthing ships!

I've beaten the boss on Easy, and I've unlocked tons of ships/layouts. Also still streaming now and then but my poor CPU isn't quite up to snuff.

Apparently I played it for 13 hours yesterday.

Playing as the Engi ship I got really lucky with two Ion Blast II and some anti-ship drones!

Its a big fucking ship with so many guns! Heh, the fist stage was a lot more easier then I feared. I had a massive evade and the shields caught most of the incoming fire. Once there shields are down, its easy prey for the Anti-Ship drones.

Which again was not that bad, the extra drones meant nothing to me once the Ion beam hit it. The missiles did the most damage.

The Extra shield I didn't care about but the boarding I did! My crew was mostly Engi's.

Happily the engi ship has an augmentation which allows all the rooms to get healing if heals is turned on. So it didnt go to bad...

This game holy crap, I have not have so much fun in a game for a long time. Currently I've got a playtime of 14hrs, whilst I have only owned it for 26hrs :/

I love your ships names black XD. I've managed to beat the game as an engi ship but my favourite has to be the Zoltan ship. The extra shield is a life saver

Just take out their ships oxygen room and they will tp back to help repair it. Also if you have drone control, get the boarding drone. It's devastating

Oh and I found what hard mode is. It's the type B engi ship on normal, I can't even get out of the first sector :/

Is it just luck? I'm not sure how much better my ship could have been the 2nd attempt. I had a burst laser I, a glaive laser (incredibly powerful), and a burst laser II. I had maxed shields and 45% evade. I had a full crew (A rock, a Mantis, 2 Engis and the rest human) with those manning systems maxed on experience. Admittedly I didn't have stealth or drones, but those are both expensive.

A simple tip is to kill all the crew but the laser beam weapon guy in the first round. Crew carries over so you can break things and they won't be repaired. If you kill them all then it turns into an automatic ship which then repairs itself. Also make sure you have 3+ shields and 2+ cloak since that will absolutely help. Missiles are good for direct damage if you've got enough of them and if you use the kill everyone tactic (Perhaps with bombs) then destroy the shields and laser beam that sucker.

Favourite ship right now is definitely type B zoltan. Managed to get all 3 achievements for it

Cloak is not necessary, but it definitely helps. Defense Drone Mk 2s are also very, very good.

If you can manage to kill all but one of the crew, either via fire or boarding, you will also have a much easier time.

But be careful about trying to grab everything; you only have 25 power + 1 per Zoltan. Don't spread yourself too thin.

I was using the Red-Tail (Kestrel type B) with a heavy laser and a burst laser III. I also had 2 boarding drones. Managed to kill all but two of the boss' crew in the first round, but got obliterated by their rockets. I also had a crystal in my crew who I was sorry to lose (although I think you need to take them to a rock sector to unlock their ship).

I kinda accidently unlocked it. I was pretty much just trying to gun through to the boss and suddenly I unlocked the ship but I think you have to do something like that. The starting weapons are basically a burst laser and heavy laser that both ignore 1 shield. Starting enemies get wiped out easy. Only bad thing is that the rooms are rather spaced out...

Well I've been trying various approaches.
First attempt I just blasted their shield generator with everything I had. I went into stage 2 with my hull at around 50% though and couldn't withstand the drones long enough to do any real damage.
Second attempt I was using burst lasers to wear down their shields and a glaive laser to damage the hull. I managed to heal between stages this time but still got picked apart by the drones. I had a fully upgraded stealth system this time.
Third attempt I used a burst laser and a heavy laser to try and shut down their shields while I sent 2 boarding drones in to try and kill off their crew. I didn't even make past stage 1.
Forth and most recent attempt I was using 2 sets of burst lasers (I & II) and a Halberd laser, trying to open up their shields long enough to do damage with laser. I had stealth again, but not the stealth weapons perk so I was using it more sparingly to counter their rockets. Was fully healed for stage 2, but couldn't damage the drone controls enough to avoid getting picked apart.

Is the problem that I'm not really using rockets? I don't really like having to constantly buy ammo for them, but they would be a more reliable way to take out systems without worrying about the shields.

Okay feeling good about this next attempt. Sill got one sector to go before the boss, but I'm well upgraded and I think I've got a good setup.

Challenge for everyone. Using the osprey, on easy difficulty go through and beat the boss and get a score higher than 7237 (will check again but it was around that). Bonus points for getting more that 73 ship kills and more than 3000 scrap collected.
