The EA Downloader keeps angrily telling me it needs an important update. I'm assuming that means Origin, so I'm just ignoring it.

It's been a pain in the ass the whole time anyway - I'm pretty sure I only installed it to play The Sims 3.

And... he's wonderful."

I installed it to play a free copy of Mass Effect 2. I hated the downloader so much that I went and bought a copy on Steam, and have yet to regret it.

That's how much it sucks.

I think I installed the EA download manager for Spore... Oh well. Can't wait for the BF3 beta though, will get to see if my computer can run the game without lag.

I actually have no idea if I have it...

If it was needed to play Spore then I do, and have never actually used or noticed it.

I really don't see what the fuss is all about with using Origin. I've had it installed for a while, and it's not a bother at all. Hell, I remember being required to install Steam when Half-Life 2 was released, and I was really apprehensive about an internet service that could analyse my computer, advertise new games and force me to be connected to the internet at all times. Waitaminute....

Besides, I really want to play BF3 on the PC so I can experience 64 player Conquest battles. Anyone else want to have fun with me?

Ooooh...look! More footage of Operation Metro in Rush mode!

As I said, my issue is the fact I wasn't even prompted to agree to the terms, they just said "Oh it's Origin now".

But if my system can handle it, I'm sure the prospect of Lord Mountbatten on the field will raise morale.

If you've pre-ordered BF3 on Origin, or if you've bought the limited edition of MoH, you'll get early access to the beta on the 27th. It'll be open to everyone else on the 29th. The beta will run until the 10th of October.

They'll be RHIBs (rigid-hull inflatable boats) and the AAV-7A1 amphibious assault vehicle.

Uh, no it isn't.
There are some limitations; you're exempt from these restrictions if you happen to live in Quebec, Russia, Switzerland or the Member States of the European Union,

So any other EU nation except Britain has no national identity?

Not like we have anything to be proud of.

Things I'm proud of as a British person:

- The Armed Forces - The accent - The tea and crumpets - Lionhead Studios - Keen UKSF - The Empire (to an extent) -

Things I'm not proud of:

- Large swathes of our history - slavery - concentration camps - genocide - The rest of the extent of the empire -

Sigh.

That beta for preorders needs to hurry up or something.

Unless I goofed somewhere and have simply missed it.
