Folklore Games: Legend of the Peach Girl

Post by Tomenaki » 17 Apr 2011, 15:42

I'm not one for looking into games that haven't been completed yet (despite playing Minecraft), but since I have a somewhat personal stake in this game, I thought it would be good to spread the word, since I'd like to see it do well.

To give you the short version of this, Legend of the Peach Girl is a game based on the Japanese myth about Momotaro, the Peach Boy, who was born inside a Giant Peach and must go out with three animal spirits to take down the Ogre King that is wreaking havoc on his village as well as others. This version, however, features the girl Momoko in the main role to play out this legend and put into game form.

The biggest part of this that I have any of the production of this game is in the music since a friend of mine is composing for the game.
There's more information about this game here:

There are links to their official sites as well as the kickstarter page to help donate to the cause. Their goal is only $1,000 so I think it's not too much to ask for a bit here and there.

This also includes links to the soundtrack on youtube, but I'll include the playlist link on this post.

I'd like to know if you guys are interested in either the game or the music, because I haven't heard of a game based off of this mythology before. Please feel free to comment and thanks for reading.
