New Computer

Post by asi1998 » 16 Nov 2012, 07:19

Hey everyone, ive discussed this before ingame, but neveron the forums. As some of you know I am wanting to buy a new laptop. I am willing to pay what it is worth. In other words, if the laptop is a good one, ill pay every penny it is worth but I do not want something overpriced and that is mainly why I am here. I would like a gsming laptop. Here are some contenders.

Feel free to comment on these with help or advice or post something better if you find it.
I also know that the battery life would be crap but I will have a spare battery and I will only use it at home plugged in.

I don't understand the appeal of gaming laptops. They're virtually unusable unless you have them plugged in at a socket, they're expensive, they're noisy, and they heat up like crazy. The only situation I can think of where owning one makes sense is if you travel a lot and have a job that requires the extra power.

The majority of the time a powerful desktop, plus a lightweight laptop/notebook is a better combo. You get more power and upgrade potential out of the desktop, and you don't need to be constantly paranoid about a cheap netbook getting damaged/stolen whenever you take it out.

Another friendly disclaimer for you - Do NOT get Windows 8.

I would assume you could probably guess why.

All of my friends who have used windows 8 have said it is fantastic- the Metro interface is either good or not a major negative impact, and it runs faster than Windows 7...

Well what about the downsides like it being a step toward a closed OS like apples?

This is precisely why I dislike it. We don't need another Apple thank you very much.
