Escapecraft

I'm going to be applying for universities in September, for computer science. So i was wondering if there were any good courses, that i could book online, like a short distance learning thing that would help teach me the basics of some languages, like PHP, java, C etc. I don't mind where it specialises, I would just like some grounding in how they (programming) works is all.
Would be a good thing to put on the application form too.
