When I hit the bottom, I create a huge sphere of impenetrable ice and await the days when the fighting calms down, at which point I will emerge to blast the "winner" away and claim what is mine.

But you cannot create ANOTHER ONE. Just the one hill regenerates when destroyed. There can only be this one hill at a time, no more than one.

I drive my space ship up to the hill and step out. I then use my army of robot cats to tear invun into several pieces. i scatter these pieces around the now empty universe. My hill

That is why new hills could be made. If you want rule changing to be a part of the game, I'm all for that. I too can play at that game.
