Post Your Favorite Song

Post by aflycon » 06 Jun 2011, 23:21

Title says it all. Lyrics optional.

Shed a tear 'cause I'm missing you,
I'm still alright to smile,
Girl, I think about you every day now.
Was a time when I wasn't sure,
But you set my mind at ease,
There is no doubt you're in my heart now.
I said, "Woman take it slow,"
It'll work itself out fine,
All we need is just a little patience...

It's hard to pick an all-time favorite for me, but to this one I return on a constant basis. Both due to the lyrics as well as the divine composition.

Found a way to rid myself clean of pain.
And the fever that's been haunting me
Has gone away.
Looking through my window,
I seem to recognize all the people passing by.
But I'm alone and far from home
And nobody knows me.
Never heard me say goodbye,
Never shall I speak to anyone again.
All days are in darkness and I'm biding my time,
Once I am sure of my task I will rise again.
"Wollt ihr 'n Hut? Nur Mut, 'n Hut tut gut!"

You're right, the Foo Fighters one is pretty catchy.

As for me, I read a user review on The Escapist on these guys and decided to look them up - I'm really glad I did. :)

Favourite song? Hmm... I don't really have one favourite song...

I'll post a few anyway.

WARNING! Here be (dragons) lots of songs.
Spoiler! :

Most of you probably know this from the Platoon bunker scene, but I know it for a different reason. The father of my little brother used to play this in the house, when he was around, and, aside from this being an absolutely beautiful piece, it brings back so many early childhood memories... As well as nearly bringing me to tears.

What can I say..? It's beautiful.

Again. Beautiful.

There may be a pattern emerging here...

It's a track, that I find myself relaxing to, every time I hear it.

Same as before. I could post every Moby song here, because I love them all, but this is always the one that I think of first.

I'm going to leave with this one, because I've posted far too many already, but, like Moby, I could post every Massive Attack song here.
Edit: I'd forgotten this.

If there was one person that I had to listen to for the rest of my life, it just might be Johnny Cash.
