After nearly beating Mafia II (I reached the end of Chapter 14, and the game refuses to load the final chapter), I've been inspired (as it's a great game), to create a mafia based game.
The game will play just as Z-Apocalypse does, with some slight changes to fit the different story.
Story
Every player will start off as a small time criminal, a new guy on the block. You start off in the grand city of Pandora (a fictional city) in the year 2012. The city is a large area in America and is booming. Only recently has it begun to change from a small country town to a booming business area, so many buildings are still under construction.
Unfortunately for the authorities, this recent boom has attracted the attention of criminals. Those that roam these streets are old fashioned. They do things their way, and their way is the way people did things in the 1900's, the original mafias.
Of course, with the modern world, some things have to change.
With the sudden changes, especially in the financial world, mafia families have been breaking truces, and the gangs are uneasy. As well as this, many made men have been breaking Omerta by ratting out their families to the police or other families for cash.
The four major families are:
Vincarto - The Vincarto family are quite new to the whole thing. This mafia is filled mainly with younger men who therefore may be more skilled in athletics and modern equipment. Of course, the downside to this, is that even their leader, Fred Vincarto has a small amount of experience.
While they're relatively new, the Vincarto family like to stick to the roots of the previous Italian-American mafias.
Turner - The most modern family. This family's main goal is to modernise the world of organised crime, especially in Pandora. They disregard all other mafias, including the legendary ones of the 1900's. The Turner family are mainly completely American and many are quite racist. They are led by Alfred Turner.
Lombardi - The Lombardi family are very Italian. When they began is unknown, but they are the oldest of the major four families. They were extremely powerful in the late 1980's and early 90's, but slowly faded out after a large police assault on them. Recently though, they have come back to power, now in Pandora. They are led by the legendary Frank Lombardi.
Nicolani - The Nicolani family are new, but experienced. Roberto Nicolani was a well known man in the late 90's, working for his father's family. After a rival family assaulted them and took out Roberto's father, the family shut down for a while. Now, more experienced and wealthy, Nicolani has begun the family 'business' again, hiring old friends and co-workers of his father as well as new members.
Your goal in this game is to become as powerful as possible. If that means joining a family, then go for it. If you think you'll take your chances as a lone wolf, that's your choice.

Background: Family in Italy owns a well known/respected Italian family restaurant. Family has had no experience with organised crime before but are very good at running a business. His immediate family to moved to America when he was 4. Luigi speaks fluent Italian, English and Hebrew. Last job was a bouncer for a middle-class night club. He trained in melee weapons since he was 8.
Due to now being out of work he has been given an underground reputation for 'deliveries'. Luigi doesn't care what the package is and wont care to find out. As long as the job pays well he will do it... unless something else comes up which offers more money...

Has the slightest Maltese accent and is proficent in both Maltese and English. Addicted to smokes, only drinks fine wine. Loves the pastry and is a massive "home made feel" food eater. His a slimy git and will do anything to get what he wants done. Every reaction and action is done on purpose, life is his stage and every conversation is a script.
Christian "The Snake" Bormillio was a feared man in the city of Pandora in more then one way , able to crack the toughest man and talk his way out of any situation he would always get his way and the fact his a cop.
He grew up in the small island of Gozo in the country of Malta and imagrated with his family to Pandora when he was 5 to "Start A New Life" or in other words to escape the crime and murder that had consumed this small peace loving country, however you can never be far enough from crime and the Bormillio's fell back into the life of crime that had forced them to leave there home. However years later when The Nicolani family fell it had a domino effect on the smaller familys and the Bormillio's were also wiped out, Christian fell into the hands of the state in which he grew up in a correctional facilitation. However at the sweet age of 16 he finally left to go to do what he want. Of course it wasn't long before he was he using his skill on the "real world" and made a good bit for himself, nay a year later though in which he had once again eluded the cops he realised that thats were all the money, guns and drugs are at.
So he became a cop, the most bent cop on the force but one that could get answer out of the worst scum that Pandora could throw at him. His bosses loved him, every case solved, all witnesses talking, he could never place a foot wrong in their eyes,
His vision for justice was simple by breaking the crime leaders of Pandora he would be doing justice to his dead parents.
Talent: His vice however is that of the theatre in which he loves watching the plays, reading the plays, even a dab of writing plays and of course acting the plays. Its also were he practices his conversations with other people giving him some extra time to plan it out to the letter. The Comedy Of Errors is his most beloved play.
Skill Currently he is a plane clothes detective which makes the best use of his talents and of course adding the police training he has proficient driving , hand to hand combat and pistol skills . Of course he prefers to talk himself out of a situation.

Personality: Quick-thinking, 'don't take no crap from nobody' kinda girl. Makes a point that she's just as good as the men, which is partly why she wears the greatcoat and trilby. Intelligent, and sharp-tongued, but can get a little too emotional, whether it's anger, or sadness.
Background: Lucia was born in Chicago, to a large Italian-American family. She was the only girl, therefore she wasn't treated like one, except for her mother, and, the fact that she lived with four brothers shows. She fired her first rifle at 5. Gained her first black belt at 10. 12, first theft. 13, first kiss. 15, first death. The death was her father. He was shot, and the police never caught who did it. Apparently it was suicide, but how does someone shoot themselves with a rifle? Why didn't daddy just use one of his pistols? And, anyway, her father wasn't like that. He was strong. Tough. From then on, she toughened herself up even more than she already was. She wasn't going to be pushed around. She took boxing classes. Started learning Tae Kwan Do and Aikido. Got involved with the Mafia. But all of this was small. She wanted to know who shot her father. And make them hurt, like she'd hurt, all those years ago. At 20, she left Chicago, for Pandora. A representative from the Lombardi family had approached her, with an offer, so off to Pandora she goes.
3 years later, Lucia is a Capo in the Lombardi family. She'd become a 'made man' only 6 months into her working with them, and they'd broken the tradition of only 'making' males, because she was so good at her job. And her job was bad, however, that's in the past, and now she's a high-ranking Captain who, strangely, takes her orders straight from the 'Consigliere', Frank Lombardi.

You'll usually find red, yellow, and green beads in his hair, as well as a dark brown newsboy hat on his head. Alejandros has a tendency to wear aviator sunglasses, regardless of the weather. He dresses in quite typical “gangsta” clothing: the sagging jeans, loose tee-shirts and jackets, and large jewelry. However, unlike the large rings and other necklaces he wears, a small black crucifix hangs on a silver chain around Alejandros' neck.
Personality: Alejandros, in general, is pretty laid back. He won't pick a fight unless he's staring down the barrel of a gun, and he's pretty easy to get along with. Alejandros isn't usually bitchy unless something traumatic has happened to him recently, and tends to keep his mouth shut when in the company of anyone who is. He's made a lot of friends and a lot of enemies over the years, but he's decided beggars can't be choosers. He's quick to jump to a friend's defense, or even that of a stranger.
Background: Born in a suburb in Jamaica in January 1981, Alejandros grew up in a sea of gang violence and political unrest. His father was a very minor figure in his childhood, having left Alejandros' mother before the child was born, so his mother raised him until she was shot and killed, when Alejandros was fifteen. He decided he wanted a better live and packed his bags, moving out of Jamaica to Pandora. Alejandros had no mafia affiliation whatsoever prior to arriving in Pandora. He is, for want of a better term, “fresh meat” on the mob scene. Currently, he has no intention of associating himself with any of the four families.
Alejandros is particularly skilled at keeping a level head in high-octane situations, and has a high tolerance for pain. Although he is a fine mediator, his efforts occasionally fall on deaf ears due to his heavy use of slang terms. Generally, violence is a last resort for Alejandros.

Personality: Christian is a private and largely apathetic person. Though he can be socially engaging when he needs to, he prefers to leave no impression so as to avoid being pulled into the trouble he causes. Christian greatly enjoys his work and is likely a sociopath. He is definitively a compulsive liar and suffers from at least one anxiety disorder.
Backround: Orphaned at an early age from circumstances unclear even to him, Christian spent his childhood living with foster families. Several abused him, though one, the Galitsky family, adopted him. His adoptive father, Andrey Galitsky, had served in a special forces group, the name or flag of which he never revealed to Christian. During his service, Andrey had learned several fighting styles, among them were the Russian styles of Systema and Sambo as well as the Japanese style called Judo. These were the only ones that Andrey managed to push off onto Christian. The neighborhood the Galitsky Family lived in was not the best; crime bred and flourished everywhere. In this cesspool, Christian trusted only two people other than his adoptive parents, A Welsh boy named Andy, who is one year Christian's junior, and a Petite white girl named Chrissy, who is the same age as Christian. Christian inevitably became the fighter of the group, using his speed and what was probably a natural inclination to kill to protect his friends while they lied, cheated, and stole their way through life. When he was fifteen, Christian was stabbed in a street fight that started when Chrissy pulled upwards of two hundred dollars from the pocket of some street trash. The power of a blade fascinated him. At age sixteen, Christian had his first kill, a drug dealer that thought the kids had stolen several bricks of cocaine from him. The drug dealer was killed, not by a knife wound, as might be expected, but by having several of vertebrae in his neck thoroughly crushed. Christian continued down his chosen path, a path soaked with blood. This path became set in stone when Andrey died of a sudden aneurysm a few weeks after Christian's nineteenth birthday. Following this Christian grew distant to his friends, rarely speaking to them by his twenty first birthday. Christian owned several knives, his favorite being an eight-inch trench knife that he used in a reverse grip, and a Beretta M9 pistol. Christian did not like guns because he found them to "lack finesse" but knew the necessity of owning one in the current world. His weapons, save a knife he owns only as a memento, were stolen from his place of residence shortly before his 21st birthday.

Personality: Sergei is a cold-blooded man. If he has to solve a problem, he will almost always use force. He is also very intelligent, and lies whenever he feels like it. Prefers not to talk. He has a strong hatred of all national governments.
Background: Sergei was born to a Russian fencing champion, and learned the skill at a young age. He was also interested in Medieval warfare. This lead to him developing a fighting style that mixed fencing with the more vertical form of close combat, using two daggers. His father was assassinated by the Russian government when he was 14, and his mother tried to get him out of the country, but was found and killed by the Russian government. Sergei stowed away in a cargo ship which brought him over to North America, and found a small-time gang to take him in. They forged some travel and citizenship documents for him and he became their greatest asset. When he was 19, the police raided them. Only Sergei escaped.

Appearance: 5'10" noticeable build, yet lean. Short black hair, usually styled upright, shaved ocasionally. Facial hair varies by week. Wears dark, inconspicuous clothing, usually lined with pockets, both visible and concealed. Favors jackets, cargo pants, and is never seen without large skate shoes.
Personality: Existence of one questionable, possibly multiple. Introvert, straightforward, experienced and calculative. Sporadic, spontaneous, and unpredictable. Extremely secretive. Inconspicuous.
Background: Ex-Marine/Con/Drug lord: all speculations of Max's past from the people he deals with. Most likely from southern California, Max places no significance in the details of his past, even disregarding its existence. All anyone knows is that he has talents for the underbelly of society. He arrived in Pandora either on foot, by plane, or under a bus; who knows, he probably doesn't. He's got a considerable amount of cash stashed here and there, even a notable amount sitting clean in a proper bank account. The only proof of this money's existence is that anyone else who's tried to touch it has disappeared. He spends little money, mostly food, tools, weaponry, and occasionally replaces his cot.
With this information Max's motives are questionable a best. Maybe someone who effed him over got away, maybe it's a girl, maybe he's on the run, or maybe he just despises the world (Anonymous: "...[Max X.] thrives when the world crumbles around him, you might even see him knock down a building or two..."). Max spends his days doing jobs for the highest bidder, and his free time disappearing and looking for jobs. He knows who needs what, when, and for how much. He has no loyalty (or sense of it) at this point and acts accordingly. Despite this fact, Max seems to do each job flawlessly, without deception or trace.
If one manages to track down Max, one would notice his nonexistent, completely professional, personality, but Max does have the capabilities to adapt to any role for a con or other purposes. Some even suspect Max to have an alter ego, a second life, even a fabled "bizzaro Max". Whatever the status of his personality is, Max knows intricately how to manipulate people and the systems they run. The more paranoid gutter rats even think he is a big boss under an extreme facade. He is not without friends, but they'll never acknowledge his existence or their friendship.
He prefers to stay inconspicuous in all situations. Whatever Max is after, it can't be bought or stolen. Otherwise, he'd have it by now.
Talents: Parkour, close quarters combat (armed and unarmed), manipulation of electronics and people, has knack for disappearing.

How do jobs work?
All jobs here are one-off unless otherwise stated. This is a list of jobs from men in the crime business, so many will be dangerous. At any time, you may choose to do one of theses jobs to raise money for yourself or for something else. Most major jobs, like 'taking care' of someone, wont be showed here. Most jobs like that are from a family, and will only be accessible when you've joined that family, or you're in good terms with them. However, some rich, but not well known criminals may have similar jobs, so keep a look out.
Delivery - $300
A small package needs delivering. Contents are unknown, could be legal, could be illegal. Delivery points are both in Pandora. Car is not supplied.
Bodyguard - $1700
An ex-corrupt cop couldn't keep his mouth shut about when the police caught up with him. They offered to let him off he told them everything, which he did. Now, he's worried someone's coming for him, and he needs help.
Cigarette Selling - $700
They don't sell themselves, take a pack of cigarettes and sell them around town. Remember, you're selling these illegally, so cops could get involved.

Weapons - Melee
Brass Knuckles - $65
Add a little bit more pain into your punches.
Small Knife - $80
Not as powerful as other knifes, but can be easily hidden in a pocket.
Knife - $100
More powerful and accurate than the small knife, but this knife is harder to conceal. If you're walking around with this, you'll be holding it, or having a sharp point sticking out of your pocket.
Spiked Knuckles - $150
Like a knife on your fist. You'll be leaving a scar for your enemies to remember you by.
Machete - $225
Smaller than the Samurai Sword, but still does a lot of damage. Cannot be concealed.
Samurai Sword - $250
Cannot be concealed, but is extremely useful in a melee battle.
Chainsaw - $750
Why is it here? Because it can be. Perfect for scaring people into talking.
Weapons - Guns
Pistol - Standard Pistol - $750
Holds clips of 8 shots. An average person will die after 2 or 3 shots to the chest. Shots to the head or other body parts will have different results.
Pistol - Larger Clip - $350
Upgrades pistol to 15 shots per clip.
Pistol - Extra Barrel - $600
Upgrade your pistol to something similar to a sawn off shotgun. It's the size of a pistol, but shoots two shots at a time.
Pistol - Explosive Bullets - $1000
MUST HAVE BOUGHT LARGER CLIP FIRST.
Turn your bullets into explosive shots. These will normally kill a man in one shot. Results may vary. These do damage to vehicles and buildings too, but leave a mess.
Pistol - Scope - $250
MUST HAVE BOUGHT EXTRA BARREL FIRST.
Gives you a scope for your pistol. Zoom in on your targets.
Pistol - Silencer - $500
Perfect for quiet kills. Wouldn't recommend using it with explosive bullets...
Dual Pistol - $300
MUST HAVE AT LEAST TWO PISTOLS FIRST.
This gives you the ability to wield two pistols, for the extra shots.
Standard Shotgun - $2000
Does serious damage. Has 2 shots before reloading. At close range, the average person will die after one shot. At medium range, 1-2 shots. At long range, they may not be hit.
Standard Machine Gun - $3000
Fires at great speeds. Fires 50 shots before reloading. An average person will die after 1 or 2 shots to the chest.
Sniper Rifle - $5000
The ultimate long range weapon.
Sniper - Silencer - $750
The ultimate long range weapon just got better...
Grenade Launcher - $7750
Perfect for taking down buildings or vehicles.
Mini Gun - $12,000
Expensive as hell and hard to bring around, but perfect for the worst situations.

Vehicles
Car A - $3000
Car A is the cheapest car on sale. It has a maximum speed of 90kmph and will break down after little damage.
Car B - $5000
Max speed of 120kmph. Can take more damage than Car A, but still not much.
Car C - $50,000
Similar to what a Jaguar 2011 model looks like, this car is great. It'll go up to 170kmph and can take a bit of damage.
Car D - 60,000
Car's that fit into this category are mostly convertibles. They get up to 180kmph and can take plenty of damage.
Services
HOW IT WORKS
Services are things players can buy that will help them in different ways, the same as items bought in the markets. To pay for a service, a player must PM me or post here. Note that in some cases, services such as assassinations are not guaranteed to be successful and therefore should be used carefully. If the story is at a point where police are everywhere, getting an assassin may not be the best idea. Assassins and Doctors can also get to know players, and depending on how they've been treated by the player may refuse to work for them or on the other hand, give them a discount. If an assassin dies, they will soon be replaced by a new one.
Hired guns can be bought in any combination.
Assassins
Cobra - $200
Cobra is a well known assassin. He is the cheapest, and will work for anyone, so he isn't the most reliable, as anyone can pay him to turn on you.
Skill - 1
Shadow - $500
Shadow is an assassin who makes sure the job is clean. He's quite reliable, but again, he'll work for anyone who pays him.
Skill - 2
Kyle - $1500
Nobody knows his last name, but the name 'Kyle' is one to be afraid of. Kyle is in strong ties with Turner and will give anybody in the Turner family a $500 discount. He'll also work for others, but he wont kill anyone in the Turner family.
Skill - 3
Junior - $1500
It's not known who's son Junior is, or if he even was named after anyone, but Junior is certainly no kid. He's a pal of Nicolani, and will work for everyone, giving a $500 discount to anyone in the Nicolani family. Junior refuses to kill anyone in the Nicolani family.
Skill - 3
Alexio - $1500
Alexio works for the Vincarto family and will work for anyone in Vincarto family for $500 less. He will not work for anyone in the Turner family and will not kill anyone in the Vincarto family.

Roberto - $1500
Roberto will work for anyone in the Lombardi family for a price of $1000, but will not work for anyone in the Vincarto family.

Doctors
Dr Pryale - $500
Pryale will fix up any injuries and heal you by 10HP. He works for all, and is a cheat, fast solution.
Dr O'Neil - $1000
O'Neil is a good doctor, but has had bad experiences with Turner, and therefore charges an extra $500 for anyone in the Turner family.
