How much do you treat others beliefs?

Just thought I'd make this thread to see how everyone treats others beliefs so I made a poll type majigger.

I might mention something if someone says something that contradicts current scientific understanding, especially if it's based on a misunderstanding of the science. Of course, lots of religious people who will say such things are not going to listen to current scientific understanding so it's a waste of time usually, I've stopped bothering most of the time, especially on the internet. I don't mind people being religious, but it strikes me as silly to follow what an old book says over hundreds of years of study and observations.

I enjoy discussing different beliefs. When it comes to religion and the supernatural I don't believe a word of it, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to try and understand people with a different world view.

Even though I know anyone who believes in any kind of religion is not going to believe anything I have to say, I frequently get into arguments about religion, trying to explain to people why they are wrong. I've yet to encounter someone trying to tell me why I'M wrong, only people explaining why they AREN'T wrong. Because of that, I assume that I've been 100% correct about everything up to this point. :-D

As for hearing about people's religion, I can't listen to people preach without interrupting them or explaining to them why they're wrong, but I've never felt the need for violence.

I have grown up in an incredibly diverse community. I have muslim, jewish, agnostic, christian, hindu, etc friends. Want to know the only people i can't get along with? Atheists who spend all their time arguing about how everyone else is wrong and they are right. However I know many atheists who love to have a civilized conversation about religion, and that is actually a lot of fun and very enlightening. So basically, i'll gladly talk with someone about their beliefs, but the second they get overly aggressive and refuse to listen to other points, im out. And yes, that applies to many people on the server as well.

Even though I do this, I only do it when religion is brought up to me or is in a group discussion that is going on, and only to the kind of people who believe stuff that the general scientific consensus has already proven incorrect. :-p

I've always been curious as to why people believe what they do, and their reasoning behind it. As long as the person I'm chatting with doesn't call science "blasphemy" I find it's usually a good topic of conversation.
