Which of these two candidates would you vote for?

Post by Andrew_Dayton » 17 Jul 2012, 16:50

The question is right there in the poll. As far as the poll is concerned everyone is of legal voting age and a natural born American so where you're really from is irrelevant.

Personally it's a tough choice, I hate them both so I think I'd have to abstain from voting.

Not going to vote. As usual, both candidates suck.

I choose neither of these choices. Rather I prefer Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate.

Definitely this.

But between Romney and Obama, I pick Obama.

Obama has damaged our economy, and all Romney does is blames him. It makes me so mad, I want to hear Romney share his plans instead of telling America how bad obama was. Everyone knows how bad Obama was. If I had to choose it would be Romney but I don't really like either of them.

That's the problem with american politics now unfortunately. It's all about trying to slander your opponent, and not actually trying to do what's right for the country. That, and Republicans and Democrats care more about screwing eachother over than doing what's right.

Isn't that basically the same with all politics? No matter who you choose there gonna find some way to bugger the country it just goes down to how they do it. It's very rare to find a candidate that'll actually do what they say

Your economy was pretty fucked before Obama came into office right? It takes time to completely turn around an economy, especially one with so much debt. I won't be voting of course but could someone explain exactly what Obama has done other than fail to magically fix a messed up economy?

People have negative feelings about how he approached the crisis because he chose to bail out the banks and by devaluing the dollar a lot more in the process. It didn't work out too well.

But you're right, Obama is not responsible for the current economic situation, but he certainly didn't help it. If anyone is to blame for the beginning of it, it's probably Bill Clinton for repealing the Glass-Steagall Act.

That's a fair point, but do you think he could have foreseen the other factors which occurred after his presidency which, compounded with the repealing of the Glass-Steagall act, helped to form the recession? Consider the state of the Union when Clinton was in office. While I'm not trying to refute your point, that's just something to consider.

I'm not inferring that he is the sole reason for it. I know there are many, many factors involved mainly on the side of bankers. I'm just saying Clinton played a roll in getting the whole thing started. People like to blame Presidents for everything that's wrong in the country, so I'm giving everyone a new target rather than Bush 2 or Obama.

Romney actually does detail his ideas in his books to some extent.
I know this only because I am reading one for AP.

May I ask that Gary Johnson be added to the Poll, as he is a running candidate with a large enough push to be considered.
I for one will not be voting Romney, and am not sure about Obama (though i have nothing against his presidency at all)

Realistically, someone of the libertarian party will not win the Presidential Election regardless how great the candidate is.

I wish there could be enough movement that someone now in the two least festive parties in America could win something other than a seat in the House.

Edit: I am voting Obama though, just because it's the lesser worse of the two options
