Nature and you.

Post by Wildwill002 » 26 Jun 2011, 14:37

Just how in touch with nature are you? Do you try to kill any living thing you see? or do you prefer to save them from death and try and help them on there way as it were.

I try not to kill insects or animals etc and have decided to worship/support/whatever you want to say etc Gaia

How about you?

I dont go out with intent to destroy though if im hungry and in the wilderness i will kill animals without remorse. After all ther is a point to the food chain. If were at the top, hurrah. Though i dont agree with overkill. Like extinction will just mess up the food chain and so should be avoided.
Though i keep a sense of honour, if i see a dead animal i will most likley bury it.
Though i dont have the same sense of "aww its cute and fluffly dont kill it" if its tasty and im hungry, Nom nom away.

Generally I am opposed to killing any semi-sentient being personally, though I won't object to it if someone else does the deed. I'm just not the kind of person who can easily take a life, even one of an animal.

Except bugs. F*** bugs.

I support hunting to save money on food, but just killing anything you see and leaving it there to rot is plain wrong. As for the planet, as a Christian God tells us to be responsible with the world, but I say that the planet isn't as important as you.

Actually, the planet's wellbeing is one of my greatest interests. Due to this i wish humanity was eradicated but that's hardly going to happen.

And whilst your Christian God mearly tells you to be responsible for the world, the Titan Mother Gaia basically IS the world

With all the "Kill 99% germs!" lotions and soaps, I think we're all a little hypocritical to the "no killing living beings" deal.

Solution ? Don't bathe or eat.

I have no qualms killing anything other than a human. The reason being, is that it is pretty much impossible to live without killing something, so rather than make arbitrary rules on what you can kill based on "cuteness" or whatever, I just say don't kill Humans, and that's it.

If you want to eat an animal you ought to be willing to kill it. Willing, mind you. You may not be in a position to actually do so.

The idea that it's alright to eat an animal so long as you don't kill it is hypocrisy, because it implies someone else has to commit the "wrong" act for your own enjoyment.

What about making arbitrary rules on what you can kill based on endangered status?

If an animal went after me I'd take it out without remorse. If I'm starving in the wilderness, I'll kill and eat whatever I can. I love animals, but if it's life or death, it's game on.

Well, if the majority wants them to survive, because they like them, then I don't care if they restrict me from killing them. It's not that I enjoy killing animals, but I don't feel morally wrong for doing so.
