Uh, say what? We didn't get nether fortresses ingame until after our flush. What flush are you talking about? My comment was about survival 1.5, not hardcore.

sgtwisky wrote:with the new protection system... what is the size limit? or is that changeable? and are players limited in the amount of claims they can make? IF they are limited or of a restricted size will it be possible to purchase more/bigger ones by donating?
Currently, my plan is to have it be the same size as we have for Tolteca - except with a minimum size and no maximum and no max on number of claims. So the area max would be 20,480 (128x160). We will consider a perk of additional amounts for donating. (No promises)

No, we haven't worked out exactly how towns will work for size. But towns are supported by the plugin.

Regarding HC: Firespread is enabled, though areas protected under GriefPrevention are prevented from going up in flames. Stone will still require an iron pick to mine, but the enhanced durability reduction is going to be removed. With the new protection limit, the size limit is the number of blocks you have in your block bank, which grows at a steady rate per hour (additions every 5 minutes). When you die, this block bank goes back to zero (though even with zero, you can still use a single chest to claim a 11x11 area; this WILL push your available blocks into negatives, though. :) ). HC's maximum size of all claims is not yet determined, but I can likewise see the purchasing of additional blocks be a possibility. Towns are a problem at this time, as if the town's mayor dies, the current death mechanism would revert protection for the whole town. My current suggestion for towns in HC is for individuals to band together in conclaves using their own protection bank.

About when was this? We made some changes to the home plugin a few months ago (well, maybe longer ago, I lose track).

These changes seem to be looking good for the server. However I myself am curious about how the new land claim system will be set up. If you have to transfer individuals over from the cuboid, have fun because there is like over 60 people on the Fire City Cuboid.

I dont think I have any interest in this HC server one bit, it sounds like too much bother and I rather enjoy things on our server as they are now. As for the addition of the new cuboid system , the new plug-ins and the nether quartz, im willing to wait and see.
But I really dont like this hard core stuff at all. It does not sound like my cup of tea...

I'm hoping to have it available in a beta form for players soon enough. You should try it out! Maybe you won't lose all your stuff...

We don't expect all the players to like it. Not even all the staff like it. But we do think it's good to have different options for different playing styles. When we can...

Maybe a hunger games world, or in the trading corner a lift down that goes to a shop where you can buy many items and food and blocks, and you would have money. Say /balance to see how much cash you have. :D

There's the terra nova craft mod pack that does that kind of thing, it's ossim.

for playtime, when you say /played, it should say 0 yrs, or however long (this wont be needed for a while though)

If your playtime ever DOES end up filling in the "years" category, then that should be a good signifier that a break from Minecraft is in order. :P

I added something to Tulon's roadmap under the Hardcore section:
VIP's will get to help us do final testing
I don't have an eta for you, but all current VIPs of all ranks will get to help us do final testing on HC. Think of it as a public beta test, you'll get early access to the server to assist us in ironing out the last few bugs. There are bugs, and after-all, this is Minecraft, so who are we kidding, but it has to be said, so expect to die, lose items, etc.

This early access is for current VIP, so if your's has just expired, or is about to, you may want to go visit our Donation Page.

Just chiming in to say I like the sound of it all. Not sure I'll play in HC much myself, but I will have to try it out.

I'm just looking forward to having more hands-on control over my own town's cuboid.

Agreed feal, I don't like having to bother a Mod to make a cuboid either

Enigma is now on it's own server, it promises less lag, the puzzles and rides should be much smoother there. Post a reply if you see issues or have comments.

I concur with this notion of making Enigma a separate server. :D

Will the maps be fixed so that they are not frozen anymore? They appear not to update.

Dynmap? That's because it's offline to test performance issues. It'll probably be brought back up some day in the future.

Some day...

Soon. But yeah, I liked them too and wish they will come back.
