Secret Santa?

Post by arogon343 » 12 Nov 2012, 19:23

Well, ill make one thing clear.
Due to last years undeniable success with the secret Santa programme, i intend to run it again.

"But Aro, its too early for Christmas! D:"
Calm down. The reason for this threads early appearance is for one reason. And one reason only.
Until the first of December, This thread will only be for people who want to take part in the secret Santa programme, and will enable them to apply well in advance to save me a hefty amount of ball-ache organizing it.

so. Down to buissness.
What is secret Santa?? And why should i join in??
For those of you who have not heard of this before, keep reading. If you already understand the concept. Skip to the next bit.
The idea of the secret Santa programme is to promote a community spirit here at Escapecraft, especially during the holiday season when we have plenty of free time for minecraft. Its also about being able to crack open a surprise chest of diamonds on Christmas morning.
Anyways. The way it works is simple. Each and every one of you that applies will get a Pm telling you who you are going to be Santa for. Someone else however (you may not even know them) will get your name and it will be (Name here)'s job to make your present.
If all goes well then on Christmas morning there will be a present for everyone involved and we can all rub our presents in other players faces.

How Do i make my present??
Okie doke, the way to make the present is simple. Place either a single or double chest in a 3x3x3 or 3x4x3 wool box so that it looks like a present. (Remember to put your desired gift into the chest and /cmodify it to add the lucky person to the chest permissions Before you seal it up with wool.)
The location:
Step 1: Head to tolteca
Step 2: Take the NW dragon route (or walk if your feeling healthy)
Step 3: Take the short(ish) walk to X= -1300 Y=70 z= 980

Anyway. If you'd like to be involved in the secret Santa programme just leave a reply expressing your want to join in. And remember. Free presents.

Christmas countdown: 23 days (Yes. English time.)

Merry.... Almost christmas.
Image

Whats happening now???
Update: Only 4 days now until the PM's are sent! If you want to join you'd better be quick!
Also, After the PM's have been sent you will have two weeks to place your present.(24th December) Please reply to the PM when your present is placed.

How large are the presents? Can we include multiple chests? Can we give/receive multiple gifts?

The usual size for presents is normally a single or double chest coated in wool to look like a present. If your struggling to make a present somehow... Then just look at the other presents to give you an idea. However i don't have any problems with people making presents differently, Within reason.
And unless this project gets really packed or If everyone decided they want to give two away, Everyone will get one (hopefully pretty awesome) Gift.
OH and remember. A good idea to make this work is to 'Give as you would want to receive'

That is all.
EDIT: Oh. And if i catch anyone trying to give something like 4 dirt as a present, I will personally backhand you from one side of your country to the next, srs.

Or at the least i will be VERY cross.

I give gifts that represent an inverse proportion of my worldly wealth and I expect the poorer classes to do the same for me.
