It's old but gold. If it could help you out we've probably chucked it in here.

Lathania's Extra-Life Charity Stream

Post by Lathania » 08 Oct 2012, 12:25

Hello Escapecraft!

Some of our newer members won't know me but I've been a long time member/moderator of Escapecraft and Wokka has given me permission to talk to you all about the Charity event myself and my team are doing on October 20th.

The event is called Extra Life http://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm? and is much like Desert Bus. For this event we will be playing video games for 24 hours straight and all proceeds go to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals who treats thousands of children each year, regardless of their family's ability to pay. In particular I am raising money for the Children's Hospital in Westmead, Australia.

My team and I will be streaming the entire event live and will be playing a variety of games, at this point the plan is to have people who donate choose the games. I humbly ask that you donate http://www.extra-life.org/participant/lathania all donations are tax deductible, so it's practically free money going to charity. Feel free to request a game even if you can't donate at this point we'll try to accommodate everyone, I'll even get on Escapecraft and help you build & dig ;)

Every dollar, pound and euro counts!

For those unable to donate it would be great if you could get on board and help us fundraise! https://www.extra-life.org/index.cfm?fu ... ventID=508
Feel free to join my team or start your own Escapecraft Team and help raise money for sick kids.

Another option is to donate to Serubin's extra-life cause. You can find his profile http://seru.us/4386b/ and can donate to him by clicking "Support Me!". His donation will help Childrens Hospital in Boston Massachusetts. His live stream will be up later on today! and the link posted here! Donating to him is also tax deductible, and so it is also it's practically free money going to charity. He will have more info on his stream as the day goes. He will be playing until 7am Server time tomorrow, so keep an eye out for the stream!

This is a great cause, support it if you can. On the day of the streaming event, we'll have it on the front page if you want to watch and participate in the chat.

When you donate for this cause, give Lathania your mc/escapecraft name, and if you donate at least $10 to this, we'll give you 2 months of royalty (not a special). We won't do this for lower amounts, gotta make it worth while for the kids.

Thankyou to everyone who has donated so far. It's the fact that you cared enough to donate more than the amount Skunk. Would you like to request a game? Spybotics that would be awesome, did you need any assistance setting it up? I'm using Xsplit for the moment on Own3dTV, I dislike Twitch / JustinTv. Unless you're doing it with a friend you're welcome to join our Extra Life team and I can link yours on mine =)

Thanks to everyone who watched & participated in the event, I reached my personal target of $800 and the team exceeded our $1200 target with a total of $1,424. Special thanks to Wokka for supporting the cause and having our stream on the front page! Also thanks to ShadowCreator, aeroeng15, Skunk_Giant, Pinmissile, Blackadder51 & Ninjawoman for their donations. I have to thank MKindy separately for donating over $300 on his birthday, for which I am completely at a loss for words. Had a lot of fun, hopefully Serubin's event went well too and we raised a bunch of money for sick kids in the process, hopefully we can do just as well next year :)
