Weird Locked Chest

I was breaking snow at Farmscape and suddenly this blocked dropped...

Apparently this a April fools joke block, not sure how it appeared though...

Yeah, that's the locked chest thing from the april fools update that was in one of the Beta Prereleases. No clue how you managed to get a hold of one, but I guess in 1.3 they redid the skin on it to make it look like an emerald block.

The purple colour is the texture given to blocks without textures in the current texture pack. use an older texture pack and you'll see.

with 1.3 they removed the Locked Chest textures to give themselves enough space to put Emerald Block in. since the Emerald Block texture partly covers the pixels in the texture pack that the locked chest references the top of the LC is emerald.

We then put THE locked chest within a locked chest on the tip of a doom tower made of locked chests.

That's right, LS, but they do so the same way that leaves do - with a decay function. I'm sure there's a way to disable that so the mystic locked chest can live on forever.

No, I'm not sure if that's how it works. But I would think there may be a region flag to disable leaf decay, and maybe that would stop the chest from disappearing.

Just a thought.

It appeared and the disappeared when I looked straight at it. First time I knocked it to pick it up, it broke the block underneath to throw itself into lava.
