what do you want or expect from a town, what makes you want to join a town and what keeps you there.

eg. the mining, less mobs, easy to get supplies.

please leave a comment below.

I expect booze and strippers. Failing that, lots of free iron.

You should come see my city then, it has quite the strip club.
Only problem is that I need to get new strippers, Demonnaruto scared off the old ones -_-

Nice buildings, people who aren't dicks, farms, grinders, end portals, nether portals, just stuff that is nice to already have instead of making it yourself. I also like towns that aren't flat; I don't think I'd ever build in a flat town, but I'm sure at least as many people think I'm crazy for living on hills.

End portals? Nether Portals? built on hills? Grinders? (Well not farms yet). You should ask Iron Fang for a plot in LL. :D

Main thing is for a town to be unique, have nice buildings that wont make you want to tear your eyes out and nice people that dont make you want to lead a creeper to their everything. Populated towns are generally more interesting to.
I think everything else on the list is unnecessary as it doesn't define a town.

You should add to the poll 'Town layout', 'location', 'who the owner is' and 'Booze n strippers'
and fix the misspell of 'place' in 'palce to mine' ya goof.

The main thing I look for is that it's interesting in the location, layout or buildings in it. Everything else I can do without really.

I'd want a town with a central theme to it, that is populated by skilled builders. The plots would have to be a decent size (no 10x10 shacks) to allow more creativity when building, and allowing houses with multiple rooms per level. Other than that, a decent xp grinder system would be nice, and a place to get food.

Sti. the 10*10 "Shacks" in LL seem to have a lot of creativity and variety put into them...

Sorry about that, I was thinking about the towns you see around where many of the houses are cobble/plank cubes with a door in them. Some of the houses in LL are pretty nice though.

I live in an small plot in Frost and live comfortably. Although I don't care for luxury much. But I do have 2 snow golems and an iron golem in my basement(the snow golems are on the ground floor)

I look for the people. All of my friends on this server were met because of towns. A nice building may be okay, but those friendships are what really matters in a server like this.

Size, mainly.

I mean, I love my little plot in Corinth and all, but it's only 9x9 or so.

That's big enough for one room. Not even a room. A closet, really. I don't often build things, but when I do, I like to do so on a grand scale. 50x50 is a minimum for me. That's enough for a good 9 rooms or so, including a grand entrance hall, and whatever I want to put on the upper floors and in the basement.

Sadly, no town offers town-sized plots, so there is no town for me. As such, I will build nothing more than a storage shed in one.

I keep trying to get you to come to my damn town, where space is abundant and style takes few breaks. Your style makes me think it'd be perfect for you.

Seriously, all the red area. Space abounds, and we're still annexing more! We just dislike overt advertising. Also, we technically have everything a town can have besides mooshrooms.
