Yggdrasil

It's old but gold. If it could help you out we've probably chucked it in here.

Looks good. There is a good possibility we will implement a y trunk. I am very happy to have submissions like this. Ideas like this are top notch, and I'd like to see more of them with pen and paper if anyone gets extra time. Anything at all, daydream, or function use is appreciated.

Frost has 408 oak trees, open for anyone in the br empire to chop down (and replant). I would personally be chopping wood if my mom wasn't keeping me off for this week...

Tanis, what did you think of the in-trunk apartments? What about "floating" boat plots along each bank of the river?

In trunk apartments might be feasible in the higher levels, but it would obscure the view looking up the trunk if we have it down in the lower areas.
I think boat plots may be difficult to have and still keep the river looking nice. There is an ocean nearby though.

I'd really like to design the river, could I head that? I have an idea for boat plots that would work.

I like trunk apartment ideas, maybe a few "ultra-plots" which would be maybe 2 or 3 normal ones together? Just an idea.

I'd be happy to help until I leave.

Ls, yes you may design the river and plots on it if you desire.

Whales, we might add them after we get the main frame up. We'll see.

We at MagmaKittens in Tolteca have a decent sized area for growing Jungle trees if you want that wood.

I have started construction on the lake, which tanis has a name for but didn't tell me. I'll have it successfully set up for people to help with soon.

Work has recommenced. The frames of two branches are completed as well as the end well and the first well house. We need to start on sewers, landscaping, and the dome.

Cleared out the bottom bit of yggdrasil of sand and gravel for reasons of it looked bleh. As such, I've now got a bit more sand and gravel if needed

Catching up on yggy stuff now..

I love the idea of those apartments, personally. Once I get a chance, (this weekend?) I'll draw some ideas I had for other plots.
I think like a more jungley village with bridges scattered and hanging houses (from fences?) like ropes?

Instead of just the one layer of leaves, I mean.

I think it'd look really nice if we did it right.

I like that Idea ttw. The dome is going to be large enough to support something like this. I'm also planning on having an airship dock somewhere within the dome.

Speaking of the dome, it will need to be a series of dirt rings in the area all the way up to the top of the dome to start with. We will be planting saplings on these rings to create the outer layer of the dome.

I've started back up on the lake right next to yggy, which for now is named Crystal Lake until I find a better name. Will eventually need some help, but I'm going to build the basic framework of the district on my own.

I regretfully inform you that I have made the greatest sacrifice of all. By fertilizing Yggdrasil with my corpse, I have also lost a few stacks of logs, as my deathchest is too high up the steep trunk for me to retrieve it! My apologies tanis!

I fell off the tree and landed about halfway up the trunk. Couldn't get to my death chest to retrieve the logs I took to help build the tree.

Hopping on to continue in just a minute, but I just thought I'd say I love Ttw's idea of the houses hanging by rope (fences).

A house hanging by a rope? That sounds dangerous, I'd feel unsafe living there...

Hey tanis, you never told me whether I need to fix up the landscape around the tree or if ttw is going to keep terraforming it.

I believe I'm in charge of that, but I would really love the help.

My main priority now is to map out where the rivers are, so we need to flatten that last part.
If anyone wants to help, let me know!
