server

:/ i want to make a server for me and my friends (powerfulkingt, Bkim97) and i tried every which way hamachi, mcserver, the one on minecraft.net.... i give up i tried portforwarding but when i check 25565 it says it is not open

Try doing it without your firewall up, that has messed with me a couple of times.

Download Bukkit and run it with hamachi

first off do you have a static ip?
if not fix it.
then you'll have to manually open port 25565
portforward.com is good for that

you would definitely need to portforward, since i highly doubt any1 even has a static ip these days, port forward 25565, and it should be good

I have a static IP, but I'm also running my own Exchange server. For most people, a dynamic DNS service such as DynDNS.org works fine. You will still need to open the port on your router.
