So far in SSP, I've built:
A floodgate using 4 pistons, to have a toggleable waterfall (The waterfall's 4 blocks wide)
A (Somewhat) secret pathway, when activated, rises from a pool of water.
And an upgrade of the retractable stairs from the Mojang video (Hooked up to an XOR gate I might add)
I only feel the way that I'm programed, and most of the time that's not to give a damn.

Gonna be doing a whole day of testing today. probably won't be back on the server until monday. Need to test some ideas for a project I want to do in Future Shift.

I just built a hidden door built completely into a clifface. Problems with the design:
-There is a crazy long corridor on the other side of the door that I cannot shorten at the moment
-Takes so much space, in all directions
-Wiring is complex as - to get switches on both sides of the door, I need tonnes of wiring and an XOR gate, and there is timing to consider, etc
-Hiding the switches is tricky

But otherwise, it's pretty sweet :D I kinda want to build one in PvP (and then sell for profits? :P)

You want a hidden door in PvP?

Make small room.

Break dirt block.

Exit.

Replace dirt block.

People would stumble upon a labyrinth of redstone circuitry and steal the pistons.

I just died a little bit inside...

Such a base would save so much time in comparison to trying to build the huge freakin door...

I am thinking of building a walking home as well, maybe some kind of mining machine. The possibilities are endless.

actualy hash. you could push the blocks up to the surface then mine them up there...

Well, I just fixed up the design for the hidden door a lot. I'm tempted to make a youtube vid. It's the best one I've seen anyway.

And I made a little device that causes the current from a button last longer, which is useful. Like, normally when you press a button, the current is on for a second. But the device can make it last for a couple of seconds.

I made a fairly compact sliding door which has a switch on each side. The entire device can fit inside and under a 3 block thick wall. Also, I accidentally made it so that you can only open it on the side you close it from. Auto-lock I guess.

It's not a bug if it makes it better; it's a feature.

1 i belive so.
2 pistons cant push obby or bedrock so any bunker is unanimously screwed.

Piston can pull/push other pistons, but only if they are retracted.
also if a sticky piston pulls a sticky piston then a block attached to the second piston doesn't get pulled.

That's the result of a bug; it is supposed to pull the block.

I'd like to have a structure that can alternate between two totally different shapes at the press of the button. Sort of inspired by the Citadel in Half Life 2, which extends/unfolds when it goes into a code red alert. It would give the structure a kind of advanced, alien appearance.
