Here's what I'm doing:

Using the power of a toggleable self-building bridge (it toggles on and off) and a large pit, I will prevent endermen from getting too near my base. They will steal cobble from the bridge only to find that they have locked themselves out! I'll probably also have a TNT dispenser above the bridge to break it if that doesn't work.

If i was an enderman and had the choice of pistons or cobble, I'd go pistons.

Then again Notch had a hand in it. Excellent idea goda!

Rumours abound they can also send you back into the past.

I read the post on Word of Notch, before I even saw that they were called "Endermen" the first image to come to mind was Slenderman...So, I wonder exactly how much damage they do?

Actually, I do. The Weeping Angels are one of the creepiest, scariest, villains they have ever thought of. Daleks, Sontari, and Cybermen are all comic relief in comparison...

I think i will be pretty safe. They seem to be only above ground and only steal manmade objects. My ssp house is underground with pistons covered by stone that hide my chests with moar stone. Virtually no manmade objects except the furnace and crafting table

im going to increase the speed of clearing in MagmaVales Underdeep. anyone who wishes can set up a bunker in there. as well as that the MagmaVale jailhouse is secure enough to function as a bunker in case we are overrun and the rail line to the Mentor Resort will function as an escape tunnel in case of total structural collapse. :)
