September - No, trust me...

Seriously, trust me.
Hey Team, looks like we're about onto the second month, and looks like we're doing pretty good so far. August was intended mainly as just a trial month, to make sure people were still interested. So let's do even better this next month.

We have a list, which is still extremely relevant, which you can find here: http://seru.us/7093b. Do keep it updated, and if you want to add a game, go ahead.

What we have on the channel now is a couple episodes of FTL, and we should be getting some more, to finish out the game. I'm going to be putting the Civilization V videos up, first episode is going up tonight, and of course more to come. TF2 recording is Saturday. Now that's things already planned and whatnot. What I'd still really like to get is some 7D2D, which had to be put off because of Gamescom this month.

So what do I want you guys to do? Go find a game you want to play, find some buds that also have the game on the list, and reply to this topic as to what game you are going to play, and who else is playing with. If you're wanting to do a singleplayer Let's Play, or a game that someone else is already doing, talk to me first. I (and Tyrese) mainly want multiplayer games. I would like this input back before the 1st of September, although that's probably not going to happen, but do try and get back to me before the first week of September is up.

Thanks! :)

Because most of you didn't respond to this thread, I have done the honors of assigning the players and games. If you have any questions, concerns or disputes over the teams, feel free to contact me. You need at least one person to be able to record, and everyone should have mics (with minor exceptions.) You all have until October 1st to record your game play and send it to me. Do not procrastinate, we are looking for success this month. I'm hoping I can trust you all to arrange times among yourselves. Thanks!

Why do people still play Dota 2? It's the same one map over and over again, and there isn't much variation in available characters...

Why does one play TF2, or borderlands or battlefield?

Whilst there are a few more maps it's still technically the same thing every time.

At any rate, whilst there is only one map there is 102 heroes which is a wee bit more than playable tf2 characters etc. And each character can be played differently. You can midlane Pudge and give him greater ganking potential or you can side lane him and reduce the chances of him getting ganked too early. Dota 2 also features a similar drop system to TF2 which causes more people to play and the amount of satisfaction one can get from coming back from almost certain defeat is immense.

Add to that tournaments like the international (2.something million prize pool I think) and you've got sudden encouragement to play more.

I will admit however that it could do with some form of ARAM or something. The different game types like Single Draft and All random are nice however, and most holidays (Halloween, Christmas etc) the map gets a different look.

Ehhh... I still feel like this game just lacks fun when it's players are expected to be creative whilst no actual new content (more specifically MAPS) are being produced at all. It's almost like saying you should get every single side collectible in Just Cause 2 because you can potentially be creative with finding/obtaining them.

Even though I'm a pretty big completionist myself, that doesn't mean I'm going to do nearly the same thing over and over again tons of times just because the game tells me there's ways to do it differently which may or may not possibly result in me being amused and enjoying what I'm doing. You get what I mean by?

I do understand what chu mean. To me, personally, I see dota2 as a platform for pitting your skills against others, not much more

Changes have been made. Motor is now on BL2 instead of Dota2 and Will is taking motor's place on Dota2 upon request, while remaining on BL2. Will gets the multi-tasking award!

Being Australian (East coast) I dont think i can work with English people and doing a game like borderlands 2. Each side has to start really early or really late and play for quite a while. Is there anyone with a timezone or game that is more easier to work with?

It sounds like we need a spreadsheet for timezones as well.

That's actually a really good idea.
If people would like to send me a pm with their timezones, or just post it here. I'll make a quick spread sheet.

This is partly why I asked all of you to discern for yourselves who you would team up with and what game. Random, if you want to go ahead and make a spreadsheet, that would be appreciated. I already know time zones by looking at your names, but it would be helpful to everyone else. Did you talk to will and motor first before saying you wouldn't be able to meet? It seems weekends around 3:00 server time is usually a good time for all time zones to meet up. If you are sure you wont be able to meet though, I can move you. I believe there are only two Let's Players that are in Australia.. You and Tek. So unless you two just do a 2-player coop, there will usually be other time zones involved.

If I'm correct, Tek's in Europe now, not Australia.

Come to think of it... I don't think there is any other Australians that do Let's Plays I can think of. Random's all by himself :P
