I LOVE DUBSTEP (am i alone?)

Post by jayscoottey » 13 Jan 2013, 19:38

I like to blow my ears out to edited transformers. Anyone else? As far as I know, Escapecraft is full of dubstep haterz. If you are out there, please respond, lets talk about dubstep!

Dubstep isnt all that bad but the problem i have with it is that it pretty much all sounds the same, with the wub-wubbs here and the bow-wows there and then a drop, its pretty much it, and the occasional distorted high pitched noise. Honestly haven't listened to much dubstep in the past but from what i did listen to i got bored of really fast.

There's some pretty decent dubstep. The problem is the oceans of shit you have to pick through to find it.

Yeah that's my opinion. I like a mix, where it isn't just random dropping off into a mess of loud bass notes and there's actual structure to the music. I do enjoy the deep bass line when it's done correctly, but you need other ranges mixed in equally imo if you want to have a good piece.

To me it's nothing more than another reason for people to think they're good at something they aren't. I can't enjoy it at all.

I don't mind dubstep so much if I'm out somewhere, but it's not the kind of thing I'm going to walk around listening to.

Unless it's this:

Though I personally dislike dubstep, music is first at foremost, a form of artistic expression. I don't think there's anything wrong with liking dubstep, or any other kind of music for that matter as all forms of music appeal to all kinds of people, and are special and significant to those people.
So continue to "blow your ears out to edited transformers", Jayscoottey, if that's what makes you happy! The point of music is the expression of the artist and the enjoyment of the listener! And really, how bland would the world be if the arts only catered to a select group of tastes? Dubstep may not be my cup of tea, but all forms of artistic expression are important to humanity's cultural development.

Heh this reminds me of old people yelling at teenagers to "turn that noise down"

Wow i forgot about this and just read it and it seems i am not completely alone :D I like to look for the songs with the biggest bass drop and I have blown out one pair of headphones already, I apparently have some kind of disease that makes me love random earsplitting noises at an extreme low frequency. Anyone have favorite songs with extreme heavy bass in it? I also think I got Garretfire interested in it when I revealed the world of dubstep to him! Dubstep shall slowly take over the world, mwuhahahahah
