Time for something really bloody cheerful.
...Also, following on from the whole embedding shenanigans, spoiler your videos! A full page of them makes some people's bandwidth weep in the corner.

I'm sure what you actually meant to say was "Canada did an amazing job for giving Invun to the world and they should be rewarded by allowing me to comment on their music that they produce (with the exception of Nickelback). All hail Invun."

Also,
Nickelback, Avril Lavigne and Bryan Adams, you have much to pay for.
I was more amazed that Keith Morris is the Channel X DJ, that's pretty damn cool.

Yeah, I thought that was great. When I first heard "back when I was a member of Black Flag," I was hoping it was Henry Rollins as a guest or something - but then I recognized Keith's voice, and I've barely taken it off Channel X since.
But to stay on topic -

I found a copy of
So What If We're on Mystic! today, but I think it was a recent repress because it was in LP format, still in shrinkwrap, and had cover art I wasn't familiar with... so I settled for the next best thing, a grey-marbled copy of
Super Seven Sampler which just so happens to include "Bob Turkee" from
So What If We're on Mystic! Anyway, the song is kind of stupid but it's interesting to hear NOFX (also styled NO FX and NO-FX on the album sleeve) before El Hefe or even Kidwiller - this was when the lineup was only (pre-) Fat Mike, Eric Melvin, and Eric Sandin (credited as Mike, Eric, and Eric). This track was recorded in 1985 to be released first in 1986 on
So What If We're on Mystic! and a year later on
Super Seven Sampler.
Edit: It turns out that the copy of
So What If We're on Mystic! that I found wasn't actually that EP at all, but a double-EP that included
So What If We're on Mystic! as well as the original
NOFX EP, featuring cover art from the latter but the label of the former.

So Eminem released this song as part of his upcoming album a few days ago. I have to say I was kind of let down by Berzerk, but this song gave me a bit more reassurance that this album will be good:

This is all making me immensely jealous that we don't have any decent record stores around anymore.

One of those smelly, sweaty people is me. These guys were so wicked, one of the guitarists went on in a wheelchair and still rocked it. I saw them again at Download this year and they were just as awesome!
Really? Where are you from? There are records everywhere if you look hard enough. (If you have them where you are, check out places like Goodwill. I've found a few cool records there.) A lot of places are expensive though since it's such a niche, so you have to be picky.
I never got into bands like Parkway Drive, I guess that'd be "post-hardcore" right? I don't see the connection between hardcore and post-hardcore, unless thrashcore (e.g. Suicidal Tendencies after
Suicidal Tendencies) is in-between somewhere - but that's beside the point. It's a little too heavy, and not quite melodic enough for me. I did watch that video though, and they can definitely put on a show!
Anyway, to stay on topic - I found a copy of this on pink vinyl at a record store in my town. It was pressed with the B-side of "Sex Boy" live at the Roxy, and while I thought it was the original from '87 it turned out to be an '99 repress. Looks like most of the '99 copies are black or red though, so the pink was a cool find.

There are very few decent record shops left around Britain, although when I lived in Liverpool I did find a pretty decent one, had a lot of interesting stuff like Melvins and Pixies vinyls. Still, can't find a good one in Bristol though.
I guess Parkway probably come under metalcore, post-hardocre isn't that heavy. I'm a big metalhead at heart so naturally I love the heavier stuff (although there's a lot of kack metalcore- Looking at you Bring Me The Horizon). PD just seem to have much more thoughtfully written songs than most metalcore bands though, rather than endless breakdowns.
Believe it or not, but Eva Spence- RT's awesome vocalist- also makes and sells bunting and cushions and things.

Choose wisely ._.
