i dislike auctions that end at a set time. if your busy but still willing to pay more you miss out.

Yeah, dunno why you would set a time to end it. Just means you don't get as much out of the auction, which is pointless because the whole point of an auction is to get as much money as possible.

There's often situations with highly-wanted items that the auction will continue on between two people that raises in price by not-so-drastic increases, and so the whole point of general deadlines is so that the auction doesn't result in these two people eventually just throwing everything they have at the auctioneer to get this item.

This doesn't necessarily appear to be the case with these Private Trees, so I wouldn't really think a deadline for auctioning should be applicable.
