Re: Minecraft Roadmap (aka Plans for the Future)

Just chiming in to say I like the sound of it all. Not sure I'll play in HC much myself, but I will have to try it out.

I'm just looking forward to having more hands-on control over my own town's cuboid.

Re: Branchscape

Argentium is considering joining the Branchscape Empire (at Tanis' suggestion). What should I expect were we to join? What would it cost me, if anything, in freedom to run my city? I assume the gain would be assistance in building the town (materials are not an issue at this time), which I would gre...

New city, looking for some assistance

I'm building a new city in Borjan, next to the "East" rail hub (towards the top of the map where the rail loop and the branches radiating from Nysta meet). The style is metropolitan -- large skyscrapers, wide roads, stone, brick and glass. I'm looking for a few people who would like to join me on th...

Re: Wha chu playin fo'?

I'm mostly interested in solid geometry. I try to include some element of solid geometry in everything I build. I'm currently building a tower that, aside from having several golden rectangles in its design, has a crown that resembles half of a rhombic dodecahedron.

Re: Easy mode, Hard mode, lets do it!

Easy mode, normal mode, /gs or no, I'll stick around. (Hard mode might frustrate me, though) Reading this, I keep thinking about differences between /gs and the hearthstones in WoW. There's a 10 second lag between activating it and actually being transported. There's also a cooldown timer. If /gs ha...

Re: Rule Bending

Yeah, I know what you mean, MKindy. There's a lot of odd huts and half-completed structures around...it gives the feel of ghost towns or abandoned ruins.

Re: Rule Bending

Thank you, Lord. It's possible that a small cluster of torches may mark a secret entrance, but these are strings of torches, as if some player ran around willy-nilly throwing them everywhere. In any case, I'm still lighting up the land they were found on, I just put them in my torch pattern that I g...

Re: Rule Bending

Now that I think about it, I believe it was MKindy that told me using F3 for that purpose was "iffy". Finding caverns and finding ore aren't exactly the same thing, but the former does assist the later. I just didn't at first consider using a tool that's part of the basic game*, something that x-ray...

Re: Rule Bending

Easy concept: If you have to ask yourself if it is right, it is not. I'm not so sure about that; context can be quite important. Consider player killing in PvP or spawning blocks in Creative. Neither of these would be allowed outside that respective world. But in that context, they are explicitly a...

Rule Bending

So I've just refreshed my memory on all the server rules, and found that I've been inadvertently bending a few. I'm prepared to recompense any victims, even disproportionately, and otherwise take my licks; but I post this here in the hope that it's understood these were honest mistakes. I've been wo...

Re: Terra - reformed

*sigh* I learned about this 3 days too late...now I'm already too far into construction on my tower. The coordinates are: x: -2062 to -2002 z: -2688 to -2634 I'd like everything down to bedrock moved if possible. Thing is I'm still looking for a place to move it. SUZZY_NINJA suggested placing it nor...

Fair enough. I'll leave it as is, and remove the expansion claim.

Re: New creative is open

Woot! The location of my Menger Sponge is great, and I'm glad it's now low, giving me room above. Question is, *should* I expand it to 81x81x81 (4 iterations), or just leave it at 27x27x27 (3 iterations)? Is it better to have a small footprint and modest size, or should I go for as gigantic as possi...

Re: Creative world wipe

I just jumped into creative, and started building. have a 3/5 complete 3-iteration Menger Sponge. Coords are: X: -797 (+/- 14) Y: 65 (+18 [+27 when complete]) Z: -550 (+/- 14) I may want to make it a 4-iteration Menger Sponge at some point (that is, 81^3 instead of 27^3)...putting it out in the boo...
